Our community’s goal is to collectively cycle 200,000 km in Summer 2023 to demonstrate that a unified community can overcome any amount of distance.
We are partnered with Connected Canadians and HelpAge Canada to raise funds and awareness for the Seniors Can Connect! program which provides vulnerable seniors with the necessary skills and hardware so they can access the online world, connect with their loved ones, and enhance their mental and physical well-being.

The Ride to Connect Club is an online platform which unites the community through the support and encouragement of fellow riders as we ride towards our goal.
We strive to advocate for the empowerment and autonomy of Canadian seniors. Ride to Connect was started by a group of University of Ottawa medical students wishing to build a community promoting both physical activity and the importance of senior autonomy. We have pledged to cycle 9,306km, the equivalent to the width of Canada, as our contribution to the community goal.
We hope that the community will be a fun and inclusive experience for all Canadians hoping to remain physically active while advocating for an important cause.

Community support is essential in promoting the cause. We are hoping to inspire Canadian politicians, health care providers, businesses, and the general public to join us in empowering our elderly population with the skills and tools necessary to access the online world.
